The Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors (AVID)

AVID is a private non-stock, non-profit business association that was founded in July 2010 in the Philippines. Its membership consists of 17 leading auto companies, representing 26 global brands, that are one in advocating for the effective management of diverse commercial, consumer, and legislative aspects that affect the Philippine automotive industry and the Philippine economy.

Avid was established as a response to the need to accelerate government and private enterprise initiatives toward improving industry competitiveness. The Association partners with a growing network of industry experts from government and the private sectors to provide reasonable and objective information about free and fair competition and consumer welfare. This is how AVID makes significant contributions to assisting policy makers in crafting a system of laws and regulations to advance the local and global competitiveness of Philippine businesses.

AVID’s Core Missions

AVID was established to foster the development and growth of the Philippine automotive industry and the Philippine economy as a whole through four areas of engagement:

  • Strategic Policy Thinking

    • It deliberately provides its thoughts and inputs to policy developments and direction affecting business and the economy.

  • Communications and Advocacy

    • It communicates and advocates its position on economic, industry, and legislative issues and changes, which have significant bearing on the automotive industry and the economy.

  • Knowledge Capital Building

    • It initiates forums and dialogues that promote information- and knowledge-sharing so that its stakeholders may better understand the economic and investment environment and arrive at more strategic business decisions.

  • Partnership Strengthening

    • AVID commits to strengthening its partnerships with the Government, Business, Academe, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable development and growth of the economy and the automotive industry through formal partnerships for mutually beneficial projects.

The AVID Thought Leadership Forum

The Thought Leadership Forum (TLF) is the flagship platform for AVID to engage its stakeholders in a vibrant exchange of ideas about matters that influence Industry development and outlook.
